• Consumers should look out for bombastic advertising and before buying gather information about the advertised product or service.

• Before concluding a purchase, goods should be checked for any apparent defects. Delivered goods must be inspected upon delivery.

• Consumers must keep the proof of purchase of the goods bought.

• When not happy with the terms and conditions of a sales contract consumers should try to re-negotiate them with the seller.

• Product instructions and warnings should be read and observed. If not, consumers may lose their right to claim a free remedy from seller.
