It is a fact that we are on the brink of winter with stormy seas prevailing in the Gozo channel. These weather conditions only affect hundreds of Gozitans who, day in day out, have to cross over to Malta either in connection with their work or for various other purposes.

Through this public medium, may I ask, on behalf of many colleagues who do not dare put pen to paper, why is the government regaling us with all this blatant procrastination with regard to the implementation of a fast ferry service and a fourth vessel to enhance the daily crossings.

Why is it that relative promises in the electoral programme of the incumbent government are so publicly permitted to fall by the wayside?

Our MPs should leave no stone unturned to raise such an important issue in the right quarters. This laissez-faire attitude is a flagrant insult to us Gozitans.
