I so wish I could spend just one whole week without the bellyaching from that ‘impartial’ correspondent with the perennial chip on his shoulder.

Yes, it’s Eddy Privitera again whose letter headed ‘Conduct unbecoming’ (October 19) would be most fittingly applied to him. As I had pointed out in a previous correspondence, he is still oblivious to the fact that what he writes can also be applied to his party and leader.

In part of his latest diatribe, he again attacks Simon Busuttil, the man Labour detest, because he ‘insulted’ Joseph Muscat by stating he still believes Egrant belongs to the Prime Minister. The correspondent endorses Muscat’s venom when he called Busuttil “a liar and fraudster”. A typical case of the pot calling the kettle black.

Privitera’s hero has long proved to be a “liar and fraudster”. Remember when, before the 2013 election, he stressed that his government would rule with “transparency and meritocracy”? When he hoodwinked the public by stating he would eradicate corruption?

Were those promises not fraud and lies when his government started its corruption ‘road plan’ within days of being elected? Remember the Prime Minister and the Café Premiere scandal? And has it been meritocracy that enabled the Prime Minister to give all his cronies hundreds of thousands of euros for alleged jobs?

Come to think of it, Privitera has been so vociferous for his leader one wonders why he has not benefited from his generosity?

And, by the way, it is not just Busuttil who still believes Egrant belongs to Muscat and his wife. I can assure Privitera, thousands do.
