Monday's Budget will help families “adjust to a fast growing economy and enjoy its fruits”, Finance Minister Edward Scicluna told The Sunday Times of Malta on Saturday as he made final preparations for the Budget speech.

He said: “The Budget will give ample examples of such measures.”

Asked whether the Budget would help those finding it difficult to make ends meet, he said statistics showed that at the national level these income earners were better off in absolute terms than before.

“The budget will make the needed adjustment to ensure that this continues to apply also in relative terms.”

The surge in property prices would be tackled “with concrete measures”, while there would also be measures to improve the infrastructure to better cope with the growing economy, such as roads, traffic and public transport.
