Times of Malta reports that Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has been urged
to guarantee independent media “full, regular access and interviews” by a group of international press freedom organisations following their three-day mission to Malta. It also reports that the number of early school leavers in Malta is the highest in the European Union.

L-orizzont says a survey coming out on Sunday will show the Labour Party enjoying a "consistent" gap in popularity over the Nationalist Party. It also quotes General Workers' Union boss Josef Bugeja saying he expected the Budget to address pensions, housing and work conditions. 

In-Nazzjon reports that the European Socialists wanted to prohibit the sale of EU passports. It also says that the price of milk products in Malta was going to increase.

The Malta Independent says a white paper poses the question whether 16-year-olds should be allowed to contest local elections.
