A total €921,000 were donated during the television programme Xarabank on Friday evening held to fund raise for a second Dar Bjorn, this time in Żebbuġ.

The money collected will go a long way towards the planned home, to house patients suffering from neurodegenerative diseases.

Bjorn now only needs to collect around €2 million to start working on the project.

Since launching his ALS Malta Foundation in 2014, Bjorn has raised enough money to build a ‘Dar Bjorn’ in Qormi. It can house around 13 people suffering from ALS and other neurodegenerative diseases.

The Żebbuġ home, over eight floors, will create a boutique hotel and hospital environment for up to 50 patients.
