Today will see the return of Lejl f’Casal Fornaro, now in its 11th edition.

The event is designed to promote Qormi’s culture, traditions and folklore, including the town’s traditional bakeries and its long-standing association with Maltese bread.

Shelters from World War II are being brought to life and will be open to visitors for the event. There will also be activities with a supernatural theme.

Traditional talents and crafts on display will include Maltese lace and knitting. The Qormi Oktoberfest will also be incorporated within this event. A variety of beers will be available, as well as food.

The old streets of Città Pinto will be transformed into what they once were more than 200 years ago – during the Knights’ period – through a folkloristic ambience, as well as traditional decorations and adornments.

The main attractions will be the different entertainment stages spread out throughout the evening, each offering live drama, Maltese traditional songs (including għana), marches from numerous Maltese bands and shows by established singers and top local talent.

Visitors will be able to roam the traditionally decorated streets of the village, renowned for its bread-making, while appreciating several artistic displays and agricultural exhibitions.

Customs and traditions will also be reflected in the food items on display, as well as in all the entertaining activities offered, which include drama, traditional shows, and live folkloristic dance.

Lejl f’Casal Fornaro is being held this evening from 7pm in various locations in the village.
