The road between Luqa and Qormi, including access to St Vincent de Paul Home and Ħal Farruġ is to be rebuilt and widened to include more lanes and a cycle lane, Infrastructure Malta said.

The 2.8km project incorporates Triq San Tumas and  Triq Ħal Qormi.

On completion, the road will have two lanes on either way instead of the current single lanes. There will be crash barriers in the middle and new LED lighting.

The project will also include tree-planting.

Infrastructure Malta said it is inviting contractors to bid for the project by November 19. Works will get in hand in the first quarter of next year for completion later that year.
