ITALY

Despite not joining the Malta national team for their UEFA Nations League appointments against Kosovo and Azerbaijan, Zach Muscat featured for his club Pistoiese in the Tuscan derby against Pisa in Serie C, last Sunday.

Unfortunately for him, Muscat was given the marching orders on minute 52 when he floored Gaetano Masucci for a penalty.

Pisa emerged winners 2-0 as Pistoiese are 19th with two points.

Meanwhile, Jake Engerer played the final 15 minutes of the second half in Frosinone U-17's defeat at the hands of Benevento, last weekend.

Malta women's Martina Borg made her debut at Fortitudo Mozzecane in Italy's Serie B, last weekend.

Borg, who featured for Hibernians in the Maltese women's league in the past years, entered the field on minute 65 but her team fell short 2-1 against Empoli Ladies.

Another Malta women player who is plying her trade in Italy is Nicole Sciberras, who joined Grifone Gialloverde for a second straight spell in the third tier.

She played full 90 minutes  in her team's opener against Vapa Virtus Napoli with Grifone emerging winners 2-1.

Sam Magri's Ebbsfleet United fell to a late winner after fighting their way back into the game at Solihull Moors in the Vanarama National League.

Magri played the full game for the Fleet, who are 17th in the 24-team championship on 18 points.

Kettering Town's Andrea Borg almost made an immediate impact after he was introduced in the second half but fired over the crossbar as his side were held in a goalless stalemate by Tamworth in the Evo-Stik Suth League.

IRELAND

Former Malta international Jacob Borg was in action for Finn Harps as the Irish side are currently involved in the promotion play-offs of Ireland's First Division.

The former Balzan player featured the whole 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw away at Drogheda United.

The second leg will be played this Friday, with Finn Harps hosting Drogheda.
