ANASTASI. On October 12, at Casa Arkati, Mosta, ELIZABETH (Daisy), aged 98, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Joe and his wife Carolyn, Elizabeth and her husband Tony Sant Fournier, David and his wife Nadya, Johanna and her husband Alex Zammit, Noella and her husband Joe Scicluna and her daughter-in-law Nathalie Anastasi, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brother Joe Ellul Mattei and her brother-in-law Victor Portanier, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Friday, October 19, at 1pm, for the Sanctuary of the Divine Mercy, Naxxar, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 1.30pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, and St Patrick’s church, Sliema, would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest. The family would like to thank the management and staff of Casa Arkati for their care and attention.

ANCILLERI. On October 16, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMELA of Cospicua, aged 96, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her children, Camilla, widow of her son Joseph, Betty, widow of Godwin, Lawrence and his wife Maria, Frank and his wife Maria and Noel and his wife Anna, her grandchildren, their respective spouses, her great-grandchildren, her sisters Maria and Theresa, all other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Thursday at 1.15pm for Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception collegiate church, Cospicua, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

BORG. On October 14, at Mater Dei Hospital, Fr JOSEPH BORG, SJ, aged 86, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brethren of the Society of Jesus in Malta and India, his sisters Sister Emmanuel (Sister of Charity in India) and Sister Joan (Missionaries of Charity), nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated today, Tuesday, at 4pm at Naxxar parish church, followed by interment at the parish cemetery, Naxxar. No flowers by request but donations to the Jesuit Infirmary for aged and sick Jesuit Fathers and Brothers will be greatly appreciated. May he rest in the peace of the Risen Lord.

LAFERLA. On October 14, at Casa Antonia, Balzan, JOSEPH of Sliema, a beloved husband and father, aged 95, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by his immediate family. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife the Most Noble Doris, née Caruana Dingli, his daughter Bertha, wife of Anthony Darmanin, Jeannette, widow of Marquis Dr John Laferla, his treasured grandsons David and his wife Kirsten and Michael and his wife Daniela and their children, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Casa Antonia today, Tuesday, October 16, at 1.30pm, for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Merciful Lord, grant him eternal rest. The family would like to thank nurses and carers at Casa Antonia for their care and dedication during the many years he spent there.

MANNING. On October 13, at her home in Texas, US, DARIA, née Dowling, aged 68, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved husband Ross, her loving children Brooke and Lauren, their spouses and her adored grandchildren, her mother Jean, brothers and sister, in-laws, nephews, nieces, relatives and the many friends in Malta. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

SAMMUT. On October 16, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMELO of Birkirkara, aged 81, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Polly, his daughter Marthese and her husband Charlie, and his son Joe, his sisters and brothers, Laura, Mary, Tony, Phyllis, Doris, Helen, Joe and Victoria and their families, in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Wednesday, October 17, at 1.30pm, for St Joseph the Worker parish church, Birkirkara, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations, instead of flowers, to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Requiem Mass

Tomorrow’s 6.30pm Mass at the Immaculate Conception church, Kunċizzjoni, limits of Rabat, will be celebrated for the soul of INO ATTARD of Rabat, Gozo. Route: Roman Villa, Bużugrilla, Wied il-Fiddien, Bieb ir-Ruwa and then Kunċizzjoni. All are welcome to attend.
