Malta’s Independence Day was celebrated in Dubai with a visit by a high-level delegation headed by President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca and including ministers Carmelo Abela and Ian Borg and parliamentary secretary Chris Agius. This coincided with a visit to Cityscape 2018 which featured a Malta Pavilion by Property Malta Foundation for the attraction ofinvestment to Malta.

Hosted by Anthony Tabone, Malta’s consul general in Dubai and northern Emirates, the evening’s guest of honour was State Minister Mariam Mohammed Hareb Al Muhairi. 

During a brief speech, Mr Tabone said the large Maltese community living in the UAE were Malta’s true ambassadors who continued to strive to achieve excellence in various fields.

Dr Abela said the excellent ties between Malta and the UAE continued to strengthen, as was seen last year with the opening of an embassy in Abu Dhabi.
