The great French philosopher Gabriel Marcel said: “The wise man knows how to run his life so that contemplation is possible”. In his apostolic letter on the most holy rosary, Rosarium Virginis Mariae, Saint John Paul II wrote: “The rosary belongs among the finest and most praiseworthy traditions of Christian contemplation” (no.5).

Why cannot we take up the holy rosary, during this Marian month of October, and ask Mary to protect us from the devil who tries to separate us from God and from one another as families and Church? Is this not a wise way of living and combatting evil with good?
