The French say that time passes and only souvenirs remain.

This newspaper last Saturday reported about the first woman to join the civil defence in the 1950s. It reminds me of when I underwent a civil defence course in the warden section course in Victoria in December 1956. It had been conducted by “Mr Tonna”, of Floriana.

It was a very interesting experience because we were trained how to act when undesirable and unexpected events or calamities happened. I still proudly possess the certificate I was given.
