Carmel Vassallo is giving a public lecture tomorrow entitled ‘The spirit of enterprise: Malta’s most important asset’. The lecture will delve into how despite limited natural resources, the Maltese people seem to be endowed with a spirit of enterprise.

Vassallo says that history has tended to focus on the deeds of great men and the occasional great woman but probably more than any other type of history, economic history is about the toil of the many who do not ordinarily make it into the ‘headlines’. Careful detective work can sometimes enable one to do justice to these individuals.

The lecture is being held tomorrow at Binja Laparelli, Central Bank of Malta in Valletta at 6pm. Admission is free but registration is required on publicrelations@centralbankmalta.org. For event details, visit www.centralbankmalta.org/en/event-details/50.
