My husband and I have been holidaying in Sliema for many years, loving the traditions, the friendly people and the retained character of the “original Sliema”.
However each time we return now there seems to be more and more building and the true character of the town seems to be getting lost among the continuous high-rise building that is going on.
I know that progress is important but hope that the city fathers don’t lose sight of the beautiful town that they have and don’t place too much emphasis on modernisation and making money.
Visitors to Sliema love the town as it is and in no way want Malta to turn into a mini “Costa”.
Please keep your beautiful island traditions and slow down the modernisation and building surplus.
