The project is hosted by local architectural and urban design firm Studjurban and the Planning Authority. The design talks will be launched on Saturday, October 6 at the Maritime Museum’s St Angelo Hall at 7pm by Austrian architect Peter Lorenz, the founder and managing director of Lorenz Ateliers.

Lorenz is one of Austria’s foremost architects and is well known for his humanistic approach to the architectural profession. His office has won numerous international competitions and it has been awarded on several occasions for its outstanding projects, ranging from bespoke products to architectural masterpieces and masterplanning. Lorenz also guest lectures in a number of universities worldwide.

The main objective of the Architecture Alive events is to keep the practice of architecture alive and flourishing through a regular exposure to great worldwide architecture and urban design.

By providing insights into contemporary architectural matters and establishing a platform for further discussion, the series intends to foster learning opportunities, inspire audiences and provoke conversations. Invited architects will highlight their main achievements to date, discuss design challenges and share personal narratives, using their key projects as a visual basis.

Doors open at 6.30pm and Lorenz’s talk will start at 7pm. This will be followed by questions and drinks. Tickets for the event are available online from https://www.ticketline.com.mt. General admission tickets cost €15 and reduced student tickets at €7.
