Have the fish farms truly cleaned up their act? It appears not, as this Sunday, by the Marsalforn promenade, there was a large swathe of slime spread all over. The wind was SSE, so presumably emanating from the sites just south of Comino. I think the authorities need to decide whether it is more profitable to let the farm operators continue with these attendant risks – or to jeopardise the tourist business, on which the Gozitan economy is so dependant.

There was nobody swimming, not surprisingly, preferring instead to stand on the promenade and point with amazement.
