Spazju Kreattiv is hosting a micro-exhibition about the annual international photographic contest Wiki Loves Monuments. The exhibition presents information about previous entries and winners and about this year’s contest.

Wiki Loves Monuments, organised by Wikimedia chapters and groups worldwide aims to promote and share knowledge about heritage sites across the world through Wikimedia projects (mainly Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons).

This project, in fact, encourages individuals to submit photos of heritage sites within their localities/communities to Wikimedia Commons, using a free licence, thereby allowing for images to be used and shared freely by anybody.

A national jury selects up to 10 entries within each participant country and submits them to the competition’s international jury (composed of photographers, photojournalists and experts in cultural heritage), who select the final winner of the competition.

The exhibition is on at St James Cavalier until Sunday. Entrance is free. For more information, visit www.kreattivita.org.

For more information about the competition, visit Wiki Loves Monuments 2018 in Malta project page.
