A pilot project launched on Monday will see elderly people in three localities being provided with transport to carry out basic errands.

Residents of Żurrieq, Gżira and Mosta will be the first to benefit from the service, called Silver T, Parliamentary Secretary Anthony Agius Decelis said. 

The service will be operated by St Vincent de Paul Home.

Holders of Kartanzjan will be receiving information at home on how they will be able to book their transport two or three days in advance between 7am and 2 pm.

They may use the transport to go to the town clinic, bank, local council, the market or church.
