Infrastructure Malta is closing part of Triq il-Fortizza tal-Mosta, in Mosta for several evenings this week, to repair its surface with new asphalt layers.

This road links the Tarġa Gap (L-Għarusa tal-Mosta) area in the outskirts of Mosta to the San Pawl tat-Tarġa and Birguma areas of Naxxar. It is used by many road users to bypass the main roads in the centre of Mosta, when travelling to and from Naxxar, San Ġwann and other localities in the same direction.

Infrastructure Malta’s contractors will be removing the existing surface of an extensive stretch of this road to repair its foundations and lay a new asphalt surface. These works will be carried out at night to keep the road open in both directions during the day. The rest of the road will be repaired and resurfaced later this year.

On Monday September 24, and on the following evenings until the end of the week, between 9pm and 5am the following morning, part of this road between the Mosta Bridge (Wied il-Għasel) and the T-junction to Triq E. Bradford, will be closed in both directions.

Road users are encouraged to follow the alternative routes indicated by roadside signs posted in the area. Traffic management officers will also be on site to assist road users in difficulty.
