A number of pigeons which are kept in the ground floor of a house close to me are flying around and making a nuisance of themselves.

Needless to say these pigeons are annoying people, contaminating water, dirtying roofs, terraces and porches, giving extra work to property owners in the area and ruining buildings. One pigeon was found dead in a water tank whose lid flew off.

Why is it that the local council can’t take any action concerning this matter? Why has nobody has done anything about this problem?  Pigeons are dirty and spread diseases.

This is not an isolated case.   Another case in point are the pigeons at Balluta Bay. Their feathers are on the street and if one cares to walk around Balluta Buildings to the main entrance, one will easily see feathers on the pavements and streets, not to mention their droppings.

I sincerely trust that some action will be taken in these Sliema and St Julians areas.
