The European Commission decided this week to take Poland to the top European Union court over judiciary reforms and to send a second legal warning to Britain to recover €2.7 billion from an import scam, a senior EU official said.

The EU executive has taken the decisions already, but the announcement was postponed to Monday, September 24, to avoid interfering with an informal summit of European Union leaders in Austria this week, the official told Reuters.
