Obituaries

ATTARD. On September 6, in Canada, SAVIOUR, aged 80, went to meet the Risen Christ. Lovingly remembered by his daughter Marthese and her husband Tony Kloster, brothers and sisters, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Mass will be said tomorrow, Monday, September 17, at 3.30pm at Żebbuġ parish church, followed by interment at the Qalb ta’ Ġesu cemetery, Żebbuġ. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

DARMENIA. On September 13, at her brother’s residence in Mosta, ISABELLE, of St Julian’s, aged 70, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Sadly missed and fondly remembered by Harold and Marstelle, Mary Anne, widow of her brother Mario, Raymond and Marie, Adrian, nephews and nieces, Lisa and Ryan and their children Zack and Kyra, Josef and Sonia, Sarah and her children Ella and Amy, Karen and Ben and their son Isaac, Jeremy and Nadine, Gabriel and Annie and their daughter Leah, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Monday, September 17, at 8.15am, for St Julian’s parish church where funeral Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest and welcome her to everlasting life.

GATT. On September 15, at Casa Arkati, YVONNE, aged 89, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her brothers Dr Maurice Gatt and his wife Nellie, Joseph and his wife Elpides, her sister Eileen and her husband Dr Herbert Lenicker, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Casa Arkati tomorrow, Monday, September 17 at 7.45am for the Annunciation parish church, Balzan where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30am followed by interment at Santa Marija Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

ZAMMIT. On September 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, WILLIAM of Senglea, residing in Fgura, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss his loving wife May, née Gerardi, his daughter Mariella and her husband David Dingli, Sarah his much beloved granddaughter, Hortense, widow of his son Joe, his nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday, September 18, at 7.10am, for the Basilica of Our Lady of Victories, Senglea, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 7.45am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

ATTARD – WALTER. In loving memory of a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather on the 19th anniversary of his demise. Deeply missed by his only daughter Frances, her husband Joe Fenech, his grandchildren Jonathan and Nicola and their families. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

BORG – ALEXANDER LAWRENCE. Unforgettable and treasured memories of a very dear brother, uncle, friend and teacher. Specially remembered on the second anniversary of his passing away. You lived well, laughed often and loved much. You left this world a better place than you found it and always looked for the best in others and gave the best you had. Sorely missed by Tonio and Louise, Italo and Daniella, Philip, Michaela, Julian, Francesca, Timmy, and Ian. Lord, grant him eternal rest. Mass for the repose of his soul will be celebrated on Friday, September 21, at 10.30am, at the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy, Naxxar. The attendance of family and friends will be appreciated.

GERA. Dearest WAYNE, words alone cannot express how much you are loved and missed. Till we all meet again. Mamà and Winston.

PORTELLI – JOSEPH. A dearly missed father gone 49 years ago today. Loved and never forgotten, always in our thoughts. Your sons and daughter, in-laws, sister, relatives and friends. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

SAMMUT. In ever lasting memo­ry of Rev. ANTON SAMMUT who passed away on September 9, 2013, at the age of 84. Never forgotten and fondly remembered by his dear brother Godwin and his wife Violet, nieces Stellina and Mario Zammit, Tanya and Aldo Portelli, other relatives and friends.

ZAMMIT. In loving memory of MICHAEL VINCENT on the 22nd anniversary of his passing on to eternal life, his wife NINA, who passed on 11 years ago and their daughter CARMEN, who was reunited with them eight years ago. Beloved in life and cherished in death by Vicky and her husband Walter Spiteri, Vincent and his wife Rachelle, née Camilleri, Dolores and her husband Victor Cristina and their families. ALPS reunion

The Association of Lyceum Past Students (ALPS) will hold its annual reunion on October 13 at the Lyceum, Ħamrun.

Holy Mass will be said at 7pm by Archbishop Emeritus Paul Cremona. Lyceum past students who had taken up priesthood are invited to concelebrate.

This will be followed by a reception (€5 contribution per person). The reunion is open to all ALPS members and Lyceum past students, with a special invitation to those who had started or terminated their studies at the Lyceum in 1968.
