The achievements of 84 students of St Martin’s Institute of Higher Education, a licensed higher education institution by the National Commission for Further and Higher Education and affiliate institution of the University of London, were celebrated at the graduation ceremony held recently. These students have joined over 700 others who have graduated from the institute since 2000.

Craig O’Callaghan, deputy CEO, University of London worldwide, described St Martin’s as a “centre of excellence within the University’s Teaching Centre Framework”. The results achieved this year were exceptional and in keeping with the academic standards associated with the University of London.

He added: “These results are a reflection of St Martin’s sustained commitment to excellence in respect of its teaching, its support to students and to its administrative processes, which together contribute to an excellent student experience  Principal Charles Theuma described the students’ achievements as testament to a successful relationship between students and academic staff working together in an environment conducive to learning.

Twenty-seven of the students ranked in the top 10 marks across the world in their respective subjects, including three students who achieved the highest mark globally and another student attaining six top 10 marks, of the seven examination papers taken.

Education Minister Evarist Bartolo commended St Martin’s for how it pushes students to follow the four education principles to prepare them to become resilient to meet the demands of the 21st century. He promised he would continue to work in partnership with the institute. v St Martin’s Institute is currently receiving second call applications on a first-come, first-served basis to read for the world renowned University of London degrees in Business, Finance and Computing as from October 1.
