The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry  conference entitled ‘A Family Affair – Safeguarding Malta and Europe’s Beating Heart’, which will be held October 1, has published the complete programme of speakers.

In addition to previously announced international speakers Ferrero research and development chief Briano Olivares, Buffa founder Paolo Buffa and Grimaldi Lines director Eugenio Grimaldi, the list of speakers now includes Joseph Zammit Tabona from Infinitely Xara, Denise Xuereb from AX Group and Benjamin Tabone Grech from Engel & Völkers Sara Grech.

Mr Zammit Tabona is a chartered accountant by profession. He became a partner of the local branch Turquand Youngs & Co on April 1, 1972, and was a senior co-partner of PwC until his retirement from active practice in March 2000. He was previously also chairman of Malta Enterprise, the Malta Stock Exchange, Finance Malta, Malta’s High Commissioner to the UK, and president of the Malta Federation of Industry.

Since August 2013 he has been the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy for Investment Promotion, and since September 1, 2017, he has been chairman of the Malta-UK Business Promotion Task Force. He also chairs or is a member of various board of public and private companies in Malta.

Denise Xuereb holds a bachelor’s degree in management from the University of Malta, and a Master’s of Science in project and programme management from the Ecole Superieure de Commerce in Paris. She is a member of the AX Group executive board and manages its construction and restoration arms. She has been involved in a number of landmark projects, including the new Parliament Building, Hilltop retirement village, the restoration of various land-front fortifications, rehabilitation of Valletta’s Old Market and the new Visitor Centre at St Paul’s Catacombs.

Benjamin Tabone Grech read architecture and environmental design at the University of Nottingham graduating with honours in M.Eng. He started working as an architect in a small practice in central London, and moved on to a larger prominent practice in Berlin before joining his family’s real estate brokerage which began in the late 1950s.

Other speakers at the conference include Economy Minister Chris Cardona, head of the European Commission Representation in Malta Elena Grech and Nadine Lia from the Family Business Office.

The speakers will also be joined during panel disscusions by, among others, Etienne Borg Cardona from Capital Advisory, Albert Frendo, chief business development officer (credit) at Bank ofValletta, Maria Micallef, managing partner, RSM Malta, David Galea CEO, Beat Consulting, Paolo Buffa, founder of Buffa Building Materials, Ariadne Massa from Media Insiders and Sam Borg, director, Bortex Group.
