DARMENIA. On September 13, at her brother’s residence in Mosta, ISABELLE of St Julians, aged 70, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Sadly missed and fondly remembered by Harold and Marstelle, Mary Anne, widow of her brother Mario, Raymond and Marie, Adrian, nephews and nieces, Lisa and Ryan and their children Zack and Kyra, Josef and Sonia, Sarah and her children Ella and Amy, Karen and Ben and their son Isaac, Jeremy and Nadine, Gabriel and Annie and their daughter Leah, other relatives and friends.
The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Monday, September 17, at 8.15am, for St Julians parish church where funeral Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest and welcome her to everlasting life.

DOE. On September 5, at Simblija Care Home, Naxxar, GILLIAN MARGUERITE (Gill), of Balzan, passed away after a short illness very bravely borne. The funeral will take place in England at 2.30pm on Tuesday, September 25, at Bedford Crematorium, Norse Road, Bedford, MK41 0RL. Her ashes will then be interred beside her late husband Eddie in Cranfield Cemetery, Rectory Lane, Cranfield, Beds, MK43 0BJ at 4.30pm on Wednesday, September 26. A service of celebration and thanksgiving for Gill’s life will be held at 11am on Wednesday, November 28, at Holy Trinity church, 75, Rudolph Street, Sliema, SLM 1273, where Gill regularly worshipped and was an active member. Donations at both services will be in aid of The Friends of Holy Trinity Church. Floral tributes, or donations in Gill’s memory, may be sent to Haseldine Funeral Services, 192, High Street, Cranfield, Beds MK43 OEN, UK. Donations may also be sent direct to Holy Trinity church, 75, Rudolph Street, Sliema. Grateful thanks go to the doctor and all the staff at Balzan Pharmacy, the consultant and his team on Medical Ward 6 at Mater Dei Hospital, and everyone who cared for Gill at Simblija Care Home. Gill will be greatly mourned by her family and her very many friends both in Malta and in the UK. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

MILLER. On September 8, at his beloved Marsalforn, PATRICK, aged 70, passed away peacefully and went to meet the Risen Lord and his parents Joseph and Maria nèe Demajo Albanese. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss all his paternal and maternal cousins, their families, other relatives and his countless friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be said at St Julian’s Parish Church, St Julian’s, tomorrow, Saturday, September 15, at 9am followed by interment in the family chapel at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers please, but donations to id-Dar tal-Providenza will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

SULTANA. On September 11, at Gozo General Hospital, JOE, ornithologist and environmentalist, passed away surrounded by his family, aged 78. He is deeply mourned by his devoted wife Lucy, née Sammut, his daughter Ruth and her husband Christian, and his son Mark, along with his grandchildren Luke, Zack, Sarah and Leander, his sisters Maria and Bernarda, many other relatives and friends, along with members of BirdLife Malta and BirdLife International. The funeral cortège leaves Gozo General Hospital today, Friday, September 14, at 5pm, for the Collegiate Basilica of the Nativity of Our Lady in Xagħra, Gozo, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 5.30pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Xagħra cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to ALS Malta will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him everlasting peace.

SPITERI. On September 13, BEATRICE, nèe Debono, widow of Anthony, at the age of 95, passed away peacefully at Apap Institute, Santa Venera, comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by her family. She leaves to mourn her loss her sons Lewis and his wife Josephine, and Lino and his wife Anna Dora, her grandchildren Randolph, Kerstin, Sara and her husband Kim Caruana, and Emma, and her great grandson Zac. Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated tomorrow, Saturday, September 15, at 8.30am, at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Church, San Ġwann, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, and Puttinu Cares would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

TARPEY – PATRICIA (May), née Bonnici. On September 12, at Mater Dei Hospital, passed away peacefully in her sleep, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her beloved husband Brian, her daughters Elaine, Louise and her husband Stirling, Maureen, widow of her son Stephen, grandson James, her sister Frances Padovani, relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said on Saturday, September 15, at 8.45am at St Gregory’s parish church, Sliema, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

ZAMMIT. On September 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, WILLIAM of Senglea, residing in Fgura, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss his loving wife May, née Gerardi, his daughter Mariella and her husband David Dingli, Sarah his much beloved grand-daughter, Hortense, widow of his son Joe, his nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday, September 18, at 7.10am, for the Basilica of Our Lady of Victories, Senglea, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 7.45am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
