These are the stories that made it to the front pages of Thursday's newspapers:

The Times of Malta carries a plea from an NGO for restrictions to be lifted from its rescue plane. It also reports on the prime minister hinting at rent reforms which may turn out to be less than popular.

The Malta Independent says Italy claimed that it rescued migrants in the nick of time from a boat rejected by Malta. It also reports that the Maltese professor at the centre of the controversy over Russian interference in the American elections - Joe Mifsud - is alive and living under an alias.

In-Nazzjon highlights the interview given by Opposition leader Adrian Delia to Times Talk focussing on his criticism of the government's migration policy.

L-Orizzont also picks up on the possibility of rent reform but also reports on a speech the prime minister gave at a youth parliament where he pleaded against hate speech on social media.
