The Caritas Malta Epilepsy Association is holding its bimonthly meeting in Floriana tomorrow. Sociology graduate Yanika Abela will be delivering a talk on a dissertation she wrote entitled ‘Living with epilepsy: exploring the issue of stigma and the illness experience in everyday life’.

In her dissertation, she focused on the illness experience of individuals who have epilepsy, and whether as a result of their condition, they have experienced any form of social stigma.

In her talk she will also discuss her findings, quality of life of persons with epilepsy together with challenges and limitations.

Persons with epilepsy, their families and friends are urged to attend this informative meeting.
