CAMILLERI. On September 12, TESSA, née Holyer, age 87 years, of Sliema, widow of Louis, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by her loving family. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Denise and her husband Bill, Ray and his wife Stephanie, Brian, Tim and his wife Corinne, Martin, her grandchildren Alison and James, Lara and Chris, Claire and Josh, Miguel and Fran, Victoria, John, Becky, Benji, Malcolm and Alistair, and her great-grandchildren Mattias and Kate, all her relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at the Balluta parish church (Tal-Karmnu), St Julian’s on Saturday, September 15, at 2pm followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Marija Addolorata cemetery. May the Lord grant her eternal rest and welcome her to everlasting life. A huge thank you to the wonderful staff at Zammit Clapp whose dedication and care is very much appreciated. 

CARUANA. On August 27, LINA, of Tarxien, aged 78 years, passed away peacefully. She leaves to mourn her loss her brother Louis and his wife Carmen, her sister Connie and her husband Louis, her nephews Mario and Ivan Carl, her niece Marisa, their respective families, other rela-tives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Friday, September 14, at 1.45pm for Our Lady of the Annunciation parish church, Tarxien, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Marija Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

DOE. On September 5, at Simblija Care Home, Naxxar, GILLIAN MARGUERITE (Gill), of Balzan, passed away after a short illness very bravely borne. The funeral will take place in England at 2.30pm on Tuesday, September 25, at Bedford Crematorium, Norse Road, Bedford, MK41 0RL. Her ashes will then be interred beside her late husband Eddie in Cranfield Cemetery, Rectory Lane, Cranfield, Beds, MK43 0BJ at 4.30pm on Wednesday, September 26. A service of celebration and thanksgiving for Gill’s life will be held at 11am on Wednesday, November 28, at Holy Trinity church, 75, Rudolph Street, Sliema, SLM 1273, where Gill regularly worshipped and was an active member. Donations at both services will be in aid of The Friends of Holy Trinity Church. Floral tributes, or donations in Gill’s memory, may be sent to Haseldine Funeral Services, 192, High Street, Cranfield, Beds MK43 OEN, UK. Donations may also be sent direct to Holy Trinity church, 75, Rudolph Street, Sliema. Grateful thanks go to the doctor and all the staff at Balzan Pharmacy, the consultant and his team on Medical Ward 6 at Mater Dei Hospital, and everyone who cared for Gill at Simblija Care Home. Gill will be greatly mourned by her family and her very many friends both in Malta and in the UK. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GATT. On September 11, at Mater Dei Hospital, DORIS, of Valletta, aged 81, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Sadly missed and fondly remembered by her sister Pauline and her husband Joe Sciberras, Lina, widow of her brother Joe, her nephews and nieces, grand-nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Thursday, September 13, at 1.30pm for St Paul Shipwrecked parish church, Valletta, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family vault at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, would be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

SULTANA. On September 11, at Gozo General Hospital, JOE, ornithologist and environmentalist, passed away surrounded by his family, aged 78. He is deeply mourned by his devoted wife Lucy nèe Sammut, his daughter Ruth and her husband Christian, and his son Mark, along with his grandchildren Luke, Zack, Sarah and Leander, his sisters Maria and Bernarda, many other relatives and friends along with members of BirdLife Malta and BirdLife International. The funeral cortege leaves Gozo General Hospital tomorrow, Friday, September 14, at 5pm for the Collegiate Basilica of the Nativity of Our Lady in Xagħra where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 5.30pm followed by interment in the family grave at Xagħra Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to ALS Malta will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him everlasting peace.

TARPEY – PATRICIA (May), née Bonnici. On September 12, at Mater Dei Hospital, passed away peacefully in her sleep, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her beloved husband Brian, her daughters Elaine, Loiuse and her husband Stirling, Maureen, widow of her son Stephen, grandson James, her sister Frances Padovani, relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said on Saturday, September 15, at 8.45am at St Gregory’s parish church, Sliema, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Requiem Mass

On the fourth anniversary of the demise of VIVIEN E. PACE, Masses for the repose of her soul will be said today and tomorrow at 6.30pm at Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema. The attendance of relatives and friends would be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

In Memoriam

CORDINA – FRANCIS. Remembering our truly special father on the 40th anniversary of his death. Loving husband to his late wife Antida. Never forgotten and forever missed by his children Ray, Joanna and Mariella, and their families.

GALEA – COSTANTINO. Cherished memories of a very dear father, today the 22nd anniversary of his demise. So sadly missed by his children Perry, Sr Maria Dolores, David, Joe and Gaetano, widower of Rose Marie, and their families. Always in our thoughts and prayers. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MUSCAT – ANTHONY WILLIAM. In loving memory of a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on the ninth anniversary of his passing away. Sadly missed by his wife Therese, his children Leslie, Doris, Ben, Louise, Joe and Antoinette, his in-laws, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
