The secondary runway at Malta airport was closed for some time on Monday afternoon after a light aircraft ended up on the grass while landing.

It sustained slight damage to its undercarriage.

Fire tenders were deployed as a precaution but there was no fire. No one was injured.

The runway was closed while the aircraft was removed.

Operations were not affected.
