My wife received a birthday card from her mother in Australia. It arrived with one of the lateral sides neatly sliced open and resealed with Maltapost tape stating: “Received open and sealedby Maltapost.”
The strange thing is that inside the card was a small note but a $100 bill that was originally included was missing. Now I know that you are not supposed to include money in the post but it is very strange that the only thing that fell out was the cash.
We have tried to contact Maltapost on their customer care line several times. However, there does not seem to be anyone to answer the phone. We tried also the Victoria post office but, again, they were not interested.
So do warn your relatives tobe careful and not to include any money in your cards as there seems to be a light-fingered employee.
