Around 190 aquatic exhibits are on show at Mount Carmel Hospital, Attard, as part of the Malta Aquarist Society’s annual show.
A variety of tropical fish kept by local aquarists, as well as aquarium set-ups, will be on display. Also on show will be a series of fish with peculiar characteristics, such as African lake cichlids, which are mouthbrooders – meaning they hold their fry in their mouths – and river catfish, which tend to swim upside down.
The exhibition will be open until next Sunday. Opening hours are between 4 and 8pm on weekdays and between 9am and 9pm on Saturday and Sunday.
