PORTELLI. On September 1 at Mater Dei Hospital, MaryRose sive Maria of Valletta residing at Holy Family Home Naxxar, aged 88, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. Former head teacher at Qormi, San Ġorg and Lija primary schools, she leaves to mourn her loss her brother Lawrence, her sister Connie, her nephews and nieces Miriam, Magda, Rosette, Joyce, Natalie, Anna, Elizabeth, Patricia, Paul, Paul, John, Rita, Maria, Anna and Josette, their respective spouses, her great nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Monday September 3, at 1.30pm to Mary Immaculate, Mother of the Church parish church Ta’ l-Ibraġ where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery in the family grave. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

MILLER. On September 1, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH, of Żabbar, widower of Virginia, aged 77, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his daughter Rita and her husband Mario, his son Alfred and his wife Nicolette, his grandchildren Shaun and Matthew, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Monday, September 3, at 3.45pm for the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Graces, Żabbar, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 4.30pm, followed by interment in the family grave. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

VELLA. On September 1, ANTHONY (known as Ninu), aged 72, passed away to meet the Risen Lord. He leaves to mourn his great loss his beloved wife Helen, his sons Joseph and his wife Melanie, Charles, his granddaughter Noella, and his in-laws and their respective spouses,  other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday, September 4 at 2.15pm, for Ta’ l-Ibraġ church, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3pm, followed by interment at Naxxar Cemetery in the family grave. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares would be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

VINCENTI. On August 31, NORMAN, aged 91, FRCS (London), FRCS (Glasgow), MD, DLO, ENT consultant, passed peacefully away to meet the Risen Lord. He leaves to mourn his great loss, his loving wife Rosemarie, his son Andrew, his son Mark and wife Ghislaine, his daughter Amanda and husband Jon-Erik, and his son Simon and wife Mireille. He also leaves his grandchildren, Jacqueline and husband David, Nicola and husband Toby, Daniel and Noelle, Nicholas, Emma and Thomas, lastly his great-grandson Jamie. Grateful thanks to Professor Coleiro and his team at Mater Dei for their devotion; and to the team at Simblija and to his GP, Dr Gauchi. And, finally, to the family friend and helper Marija. The funeral cortège will leave Mater Dei on Tuesday, September 4 at 9.15am for the Ressurection Chapel at Hilltop Simblija Care Centre for a præsente cadavere Mass at 10am. This will be followed by interment at the Adolorata Cemetery. May the Lord grant him everlasting peace.
