The massive blaze at the Maghtab waste plant dominated the main stories of Saturday's newspapers:

Times of Malta reports that international experts will be testing the soil in areas affected by fallout from the smoke plume at the Magħtab Wasteserv plant. It also reports MEP Ana Gomes saying all the necessary information about 17 Black, the mysterious Dubai-based company, was communicated to the Maltese authorities.

L-orizzont quotes Environment Minister Jose Herrera saying tragedy had been averted thanks to the way Wasteserv had operated its plant.

In-Nazzjon reports PN leader Adrian Delia expressing concern over the health implications in connection with the Magħtab blaze. A secondary story says a prisoner was released from incarceration instead of being deported back to his country.

The Malta Independent reports that the government wants a tailor-made programme for prostitution reform.
