I write on behalf of the Accountancy Board regarding the article titled ‘MEP Casa slams “dereliction of duty” by accountancy watchdog’, published on page 4 on the Times of Malta, and the online article ‘“Dereliction of duty”: Casa slams accountancy board for its Nexia BT inaction’ (August 28).

The Accountancy Board wishes to make the following clarification.

The Accountancy Board confirms receipt of MEP David Casa’s letter dated June 25, 2018, which has been noted.

The board strongly objects to the words used in the said articles “dereliction of duty by accountancy watchdog” / “Accountancy Board’s dereliction of duty” and reserves all its rights with regard to such unfounded and totally gratuitous allegations.
