Valletta have made statement of intent on the final day of the summer transfer window as they acquired the services of Balzan forward Bojan Kaljevic.

Kaljevic, 32, has put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the Citizens after Valletta and Balzan negotiated the deal for the past couple of days.

The Montenegrin forward has spent the past five seasons in Malta between Mosta and Balzan, playing 132 games and scoring 83 goals in all competitions.

With the Reds, Kaljevic left a positive mark having scored 63 goals in 93 appearances, including 4 goals in 8 Europa League appearances.

Kaljevic collected the top scorer accolade following the 2016/2017 BOV Premier League season after topping the list with 23 goals.

Valletta coach Danilo Doncic will be hoping that Kaljevic provides his squad the necessary boost in order to turn the tables around in the championship having fell to Sliema Wanderers and Hibernians in their first two outings.

The 24-time championship winners will take on Birkirkara on August 16.
