A man who was on Wednesday found in possession of one kilo of heroin has been denied bail after pleading not guilty to charges of aggravated possession.

Horace Fenech, 42, from Siġġiewi, was found in possession of the drugs following a police raid on his farm.

He was also charged with cannabis possession and being a repeat offender.

Magistrate Marseann Farrugia ordered a freeze on the man’s assets.

Inspectors Frank Tabone and Joseph Scerri prosecuted.

Lawyer Raisa Colombo appeared for the accused.
