Sniffer dogs led the police to a kilo of substance believed to be heroin hidden in a chicken coop in a farmhouse in Siġġiewi, leading to the arrest of its 42-year-old owner.

The drugs could be worth in excess of €30,000, depending on its purity.

The police drug squad also found traces of suspected cocaine in a car belonging to a 33-year-old man from Qormi, who was also arrested.

Investigations are still underway.
