FIFA President Gianni Infantino presented US President Donald Trump with his very own red card during a meeting at the White House on Tuesday.

Infantino playfully suggested the card, used to eject players from a match, would come in handy in Trump's contentious dealings with the media.

Infantino and US Soccer President Carlos Cordeiro were welcomed to the White House as preparations for the 2026 World Cup get underway. North America was recently selected to host the event, with the United States, Canada and Mexico jointly holding the games in yet to be selected cities.

Trump joked during the photo-op that he would not be President in 2026 but perhaps his term as could be extended. Trump called the World Cup the "biggest sporting event in the world" and mentioned that his son Baron plays the game.

Trump was also resented with a "Trump 26" jersey by Infantino, who replaced lone time president Sepp Baltter, following a huge corruption scandal.
