Around 3,800 couples tied the knot in a mass 'wedding' held in Cheongshim Peace World Center in Gapyeong-gun, South Korea.

The Blessing ceremony was first held in 1961 for 36 couples in Seoul, South Korea by Sun Myung Moon and his wife Hak Ja Han, shortly after their own marriage in 1960.

Moon matched all of the couples himself, except the 12 who were already married to each other from before joining the church. All the couples were members of the Unification Church, a practice which only changed in the 1990s.

The practice continued after Moon's death in 2013, attracting tens of thousands of online followers.
