Nicholas Chiesa is no longer coach of Floriana after the Greens announced that they have terminated the contract of the Argentine coach.

Undoubtedly, the two straight defeats against Ħamrun Spartans and Sliema Wanderers in the opening games of the BOV Premier League have cost Chiesa his job.

In an official statement, Floriana thanked Chiesa for his contribution both as a player and as a coach.

With the Greens, the 38-year old captained them in their successful FA Trophy campaign in 2016/2017 while the following season, Chiesa earned Floriana the Super Cup against Hibernians as a coach, after replacing Giovanni Tedesco in the dug-out.

Floriana will be announcing the new coach as soon as the negotiations with the new staff go through, the club said in a statement.
