Blocked lines

The Victoria Lines, starting from the Birguma side, are in a sorry state of neglect, with trees and shrubs blocking the passageway, rendering it unsafe. At the exit near the Għargħur valley, it is littered with rubbish left by people enjoying the views. But the worst is that the walk comes to an abrupt end, thanks to a gate. Are the Victoria Lines no longer in the public domain, to be enjoyed by all?

Red alert

Motorists have reported that the lights near the Malta Financial Services Authority in Attard at times change from red to green and back again within seconds, giving drivers hardly enough time to exit the junction. Have they been programmed this way, or is there a malfunction?

Shoddy work

A couple of weeks ago, Birkirkara motorists driving through Main Street breathed a sigh of relief when they found the road closed just past the chapel dedicated to St Anthony. Parts of the road that had collapsed and were coming undone were removed so the road could be levelled again, providing for a smoother drive. But the workers did such a shoddy job of it. Pity.

Bumpy ride

It is encouraging to note that, over the next few days, a new one-way system will be introduced in Mrieħel, hopefully easing congestion and making for a better traffic flow. However, the committee in charge of the area should ensure all roads are easily accessible. A stretch along Triq l-Intornjatur is dotted with potholes so large they cannot be avoided. Urgent attention is needed to avoid damage to vehicles and drivers being forced to seek alternative routes.
