A man accused of being indecently dressed and disobeying police orders has been remanded in custody.

Zere Negasi Gebrehiwot, 28, from Eritrea, was also charged with reviling, threatening or causing bodily harm to two police officers, and disturbing public peace in the early morning hours on Sunday.

Inspector Elliott Magro prosecuted the man, who holds a Greek residence permit.

While the validity of the arrest was not contested and the case was adjourned, legal aid Dustin Camilleri reserved the right to request bail at a later stage.

The court was presided by magistrate Audrey Demicoli.
