A travel bureau in Rabat has been accepting pre-payment for bookings which are not honoured, with enough cases having been reported for a public warning to be issued.

The Office for Consumer Affairs said that it had received a considerable number of complaints against APC Travel Bureau, with the Malta Tourism Authority also receiving other reports. Both entities are collaborating on this matter to assist consumers, with the company’s licence revoked by the Malta Tourism Authority since August 2.

This means that the company would no longer accept any bookings, while the enforcement notice obliged APC to honour any existing bookings.

This following repeated warnings by the Malta Tourism Authority and the recommendation by the Insolvency Fund Managing Board of the same authority, a statement said.

Any complaints or concerns with regards to this company are to be addressed to the Office for Consumer Affairs on info@mccaa.org.mt, on freephone 8007 4400 or on 2395 2000.

Alternatively, one can register the complaint online on https://mccaa.org.mt/home/complaint or visit the MCCAA premises at Mizzi House, National Road, Blata l-Bajda between 8am and 12.30pm from Monday to Friday.
