BREBNER – JOHN (Scottish John) passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, August 14. A service will be held at Burmarrad cemetery on Saturday, August 25, at 10.30am, followed by a celebration of his life at the George Pub, Tourists Street, Qawra. Family flowers only but dona-tions will be collected for Help for Heroes in John’s name. Very sadly missed by all who knew him, especially Rachel, his family and his close friends.

CALÌ. On August 20, JEAN, aged 67, passed away peacefully. Loved and remembered by her husband Yves, her children Mark, Nicky and her partner Jean. Her sister Cynthia and husband Mario, their children Raisa and Gianella. Her brother-in-law Martin, partner Barbra and her nephew André. Her grandchildren Jade, Sacha, Jan, Rhys and Mia. Her relatives and friends. The funeral will be held at St Gregory’s Church, Sliema, tomorrow, Wednesday, August 22, at 8.45am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addo-lorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest. 

CHAMBERS. On Monday, August 20, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOHN of Swieqi, aged 76, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his beloved wife Ninette, née Galea, his beloved daughters Louise and Suzanne and her husband Stefan Sammut, his greatest treasure his only grandson Matteo, his sister-in-law Doris and her husband Petros Iordanidis, Therese and her husband Tony Schembri, his brother-in-law Anthony Galea DeMarco, his beloved nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends in Malta, the UK, America, Canada and Australia. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Thursday, August 23, at 8.30am for St Publius parish church, Floriana, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

PORTELLI. On August 19, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH of Marsa, former owner and residing at Buskett Roadhouse, aged 72, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Dorothy, his sons Jesmond and his wife Vanessa and René and his wife Hazel, his grandchildren Kayleigh, Isaac, Miguel and Kimberley, Joe Grech and his wife Doreen, his brothers, sisters and their families, numerous relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1pm for St Dominic and The Blessed Virgin (San Duminku) church, Rabat, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 1.45pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MICALLEF. On August 21, at Mater Dei Hospital, EDWARD of Żebbuġ, residing at Attard, aged 66, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Rita, his son James and his wife Elaine, his brother Philip and his wife Miriam, his sister Sr Nancy, Dorothy, widow of his twin brother Joe, his in-laws, their respective spouses, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Thursday, August 23 at 2.45pm for St Philip parish church, Żebbuġ, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3.30pm, followed by interment in the family grave at the Sacret Heart Cemetery, Żebbuġ. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

TABONE. On August 20, at Mater Dei Hospital, VINCENT, aged 81, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sister and his brothers, Edwin and his wife Edith, Joe and his wife Sharon, Rose, Louis and his wife Marthese, his nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be at St Gregory church, Sliema, tomorrow, Wednesday, August 22, at 2pm. May the good Lord of Mercy grant him eternal rest. A prayer is solicited.

Requiem Mass

Tomorrow being the trigesima die since the demise of ERIC FENECH PACE, a Mass for the repose of his soul will be said at 6.30pm at St Mary of the Angels (Santa Marija tal-Anġli) church, Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq. The attendance of relatives and friends will be appreciated.

CASSAR – MARIA, née Gerada. Treasured and unfading memories of a dearly beloved mother. Today, the 10th anniversary of her passing away. Deeply missed by her children Minnie, Edgar and Julie, grandchildren, great-grand children, in-laws, relatives and friends. Lord, grant her eternal life. Bless the Lord, Oh my soul. Let all that is within me bless His Holy name.

VELLA. Treasured memories of INNOCENT, a beloved husband, father and grandfather on the 20th anniversary of his tragic death in Libya.
