A total of 211,071 persons crossed to Gozo over Sta Marija week – in 56,528 vehicles – according to Gozo Channel.

The ferry company operated 742 crossings on a shuttle basis, in order to cope with demand. 

Gozo Minister Justyne Caruana said that the number of passengers was 4 per cent higher than a year ago, while the number of vehicles was up by 6 per cent.

A number of events were laid on to coincide with the holiday, with over 13,000 visiting the ministry's Sta Marija exhibition alone.
