Festivals Malta is organising a summer carnival in Buġibba today and tomorrow and on Sunday in Marsascala.

The carnival events start off in Buġibba today at 6pm with the traditional ġostra (greasy pole) competitions, followed by a parade of carnival floats and dance companies at 7.30pm. Tomorrow the defilé will start from next to Santana Hotel at 7.30pm.

On Sunday, the carnival will move to the Marsascala promenade. The celebrations start at 7pm with a street parade of various floats and a performance by the Marsascala band club, followed by dances and shows near the parish church.

In Marsascala, visitors may park next to Inspire, in front of St Anthony Family Park in St Anthony Street and in its car park. A park-and-ride service will be provided.

This year there will also be a summer carnival in Mġarr, Gozo, on September 1.

The summer carnival celebrations will be held today and tomorrow in Buġibba, and on Sunday in Marsascala, from 6pm onwards.
