Want to cut down on plastic pollution? It's simple: just start by becoming aware of your own waste, according to Żibel co-founder Andrew Schembri.

The NGO is among those spearheading the fight against waste.

Mr Schembri said that awareness of the scale of the problem was growing around the world, bringing with it solutions like the second-generation of plastic, and plastic alternatives. But in line with its motto of "It starts with you" he stressed that everyone has to do their own bit, from cutting down on their own single-use plastic to installing water processors to cut down on plastic bottle consumption.
