Hundreds of bottles of contraband alcohol were found on the shelves of an Msida mini-market after an intense period of surveillance by the Customs Department.
A total of 268 bottles were found on the shelves along with 163 excise bands that were ready to be affixed to other bottles.

The department said that surveillance efforts had been stepped up over the past few weeks, and that contraband cigarettes and alcohol had been found in Birkirkara, Żabbar, Naxxar and Valletta, apart from Msida.
