Environment minister José Herrera was briefly hospitalised after being involved in a car crash late last night.

The government said in a statement that Dr Herrera was a passenger in a private car when it was involved in a road accident in the limits of Attard at around 12.30am on Monday.

Nobody was hurt but Dr Herrera and his wife were taken to hospital for observation. They were both discharged shortly after and the minister has returned to work, the government said.
